About ChargerAtlas

ChargerAtlas is a reference site for home EV charging in the United States. It answers the questions people actually have when buying a Level 2 charger: which units exist, how fast each one really charges your car, what circuit it needs, and whether the connector fits.

The core of the site is a structured database of all 380 ENERGY STAR certified home chargers across 151 brands, built from the U.S. EPA's public certification data, paired with a curated set of current EVs and their onboard charging limits. On top of that data we compute the things spec sheets leave out — real charge rates capped by the vehicle, empty-to-full times, miles of range per charging hour, and code-compliant breaker sizes.

How the site is made

Specification pages are generated from the dataset by templates; guides, per-vehicle notes, and glossary entries are written and reviewed by people. The methodology page documents the data pipeline and every formula, and the editorial policy explains how content is produced and corrected.
